Honesty blows…

Well not really, but it is funny when you want to be honest but you try to lie but then become honest anyways and it blows up in your face.

So the other day I got a quiz back in physics and got a 100 (w00t!) but he really did mark one wrong. I guess he didn’t see it or something but I was trying to hide this mistake even though I knew I should have told him. All my friends around me were like “Oh you lucky b****” but I was like “shh, keep it down”. But then someone suggested for me to tell him the truth anyways because he might just let me keep the grade. This has happened for like the past 3 years when a honest student tells the teacher something bad about his grade but then the teacher lets the student keep it anyways. So I thought why not and went up to tell him. So the convo went something like this:

Me: “Um hey, I think you marked my quiz wrong, I really got one wrong.”
Teacher: “Oh yeah you’re right. I appreciate the honesty.”
*Long pause*
Teacher: “I’ll change the grade now.”
Me: *Mumbling curses*

Yeah yeah it was just like 3 points so I don’t really care but it is kinda funny. I guess this would take place in the business world sometimes too. If someone loans you $10,000 when they really meant only $1000 would you keep it or be honest about it? Well the chance of that happening is already rare… but I guess the moral of this post is to keep your mouth shut and play dumb =D
